Compound measures are those with two or more variables. Covering the resultant in the triangle exposes the formula to be used. Density of a material is the mass contained within the volume. This is usually called the weight and refers to how heavy the object is. A piece of Lead of would be much heavier than say a block of Plastic with the same dimensions. Density is measured in grams per centimetre cubed (g/cm³) and is found by dividing the Mass by the Volume. Mass is the quantity of matter and measured in grams and is a product of Density and Volume. Volume is a measure of the amount of space an object occupies. Found by dividing the mass by the density. TEST YOUR UNDERSTANDING: In this lesson we use just six common compound measurements. There are many others, list some that are specific to your profession or interest maybe sport or invent some new ones.
